Most important of all is the fact that for each new ballet-pantomime created at the Paris Opera during the July Monarchy, a new score was produced. The reason for this is simple: these ballet – pantomimes told stories – elaborate ones and music was considered an indispensable tool in getting them across to the audience. __ However/Therefore/Nevertheless/In fact__, music had to be newly created to fit each story. Music tailor-made for each new ballet-pantomime, however, was only one weapon in the Opera’s explanatory arsenal. __ Same/It/Another/Other__ was the ballet-pantomime libretto, a printed booklet of fifteen to forty pages in length, which was sold in the Operas lobby(like the opera libretto), and which laid out the plot in painstaking detail, scene by scene. Critics also took it upon themselves to recount the plots (of both ballet-pantomimes and operas) in their __reviews/views/overviews/supervisions__ of premieres. So did the publishers of souvenir albums, which also featured pictures of famous __teachers/students/drivers/performers__ and of scenes from favorite ballet-pantomimes and operas.

Many organisations are facing escalating costs and a growth in customer power, __ so/that/which/but__ makes it necessary to allocate resources more strategically. The sales function can provide critical customer and market knowledge to help inform both innovation and marketing. However, the authors say that within the industry __ here/there/that/it__ is still uncertainty about the shape a future sales team should take, how it should be managed, and how it __ taps/fits/flows/rolls__ into their organisations business model.

Snails are not traditionally known for quick thinking, but new research shows they can make complex decisions using just two brain cells in __decisions/findings/results/recommendations__ that could help engineers design more efficient robots. Scientists at the University of Sussex attached electrodes to the __ brains/heads/skulls/top__ of freshwater snails as they searched for lettuce. They found that just one cell was used by the mollusc to tell if it was __ full/empty/hungry/satisfied__ or not, while another let it know when food was present. Foodsearching is an example of goal-directed behaviour, during which an animal must integrate information about both its external environment and internal state while using as little __energy/power/resource/neuron__ as possible. Lead researcher Professor George Kemenes, sai “This will eventually help us design the” brain “of robots based on the principle of using the fewest possible components necessary to __ achieve/perform/finish/make__ complex tasks.”What goes on in our brains when we make complex behavioural decisions and carry them out is poorly understood.”Our study reveals for the first time how just two neurons can create a mechanism in an animal’s brain which drives and optimises complex decision-making tasks.
